Victorique de Blois (GOSICK) vs. Iwasawa Asami (Angel Beats!)
When you've got no one else to depend on, it's evident that you're at the lowest point of your life. But when that special someone or something appears before you, the feeling of joy is indescribable. Such are the life stories of both Victorique de Blois and Iwasawa Asami. As the product of a man's greed for power, Victorique was isolated all her childhood, imprisoned within the cold, stony walls in the depths of the Blois mansion. Despite possessing an intelligent mind, capable of solving any mystery, the lack of love and warmth caused Victorique to develop a nihilistic personality. But after meeting Kujō, her life drastically improved, as he was able to fill that void in her heart. For Asami, music became her saving grace in what was a horrible childhood, one in which her parents constantly fought. Luckily, she was able to escape the world of harsh realities with the help of her newfound antidote. In a way, the passion for music allowed Asami to live on, similar to how Kujō supported Victorique in times of trouble. The question now is: which is more effective—the power of friendship or the beauty of music? |
Laura Bodewig (IS <Infinite Stratos>)
vs. Gokō Ruri (Kuroneko) (Ore no Imōto)
There is no better scene in the world for our two contestants than seeing their opponents writhe in pain; whether the damage is verbal or physical does not matter. Today, Laura Bodewig and Gokō Ruri, both arguably a tad sadistic, look to cause the other immense suffering. Physically dominating, Laura doesn't have time to sit back and chat, as her game plan involves a direct approach. Along with her Schwarzer Regen, Germany's IS representative is definitely a force to be reckoned with. On the other hand, the sharp-tongued Kuroneko confronts her opponent with a different strategy. Her choice of weapon is not of the physical kind, but of the verbal kind. The daggers spoken from her mouth have helped to amass thirty-one wins in thirty-five matches, thus far. At the end of this battle between muscles and brains, which attribute will come out on top? |
Aisaka Taiga (Toradora!) vs. Kuroi Mato (Black ★ Rock Shooter)
Fresh from her latest exploit of winning the Emerald Period necklace, Aisaka Taiga opens her Ruby Period against Kuroi Mato. This match-up also features two of the most prominent factions in ISML—the Kugimiya Rie camp and Hanazawa Kana camp. From afar, this might look mismatched, as Taiga is the second strongest Kugyū-voiced maiden, while Mato is statistically the weakest HanaKana of the lot. While Taiga’s stats read an impressive seven wins in total en route to her winning the Emerald necklace, Mato, meanwhile, chalked up a mediocre Emerald score of three wins out of the seven match-ups in total. Logic states that this will be an easy win for the Palmtop Tiger, but the energetic high school basketball player will not lie down easily. Which faction will emerge victorious in this Kugyū versus HanaKana clash? |
Charlotte Dunois (IS <Infinite Stratos>)
vs. Louise Vallière (Zero no Tsukaima)
The Ruby Period starts with some fireworks, as voters are again served two of the most prominent camps in this year’s ISML. This clash is between Charlotte Dunois, who is voiced by Hanazawa Kana, and Louise Vallière, who is voiced by Kugimiya Rie. While both maidens are not the best that both the HanaKana and Kugyū parties can offer, at least they are punching above their weights. Barring catastrophic periods of Ruby and Diamond, Charlotte Dunois looks set to enter the Postseason fireworks; her overall placing in the leader board is thirteenth. Even though Louise languishes in thirty-second place in the overall standings, considering the fact that she’s the weakest in the Kugyū faction means that she’s not doing really bad either. Which faction will reign in this second match-up in the battle of the seiyū—HanaKana-backed Charlotte Dunois, or Kugyū-powered Louise Vallière? |
Eucliwood Hellscythe (Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?) vs. Tōsaka Rin (Fate/stay night)
This battle pits necromancer, Eucliwood Hellscythe, against mage, Tōsaka Rin. While she might be the Necromancer of the Underworld, Eucliwood does not give off the vibe of a dangerous person. Instead, she projects an image of a cute imōto, which makes people around her want to protect her. Her quiet demeanour means that it’s hard to guess what is inside her mind, until she herself reveals it using the unorthodox way of actually writing instead of talking. As the heir apparent for the long line of the Tōsaka family of magicians, Rin has to be the perfect role model for others. Boasting good looks and excellent grades, as well as excelling in everything she tries, she is well rounded. While she might seem like an enigmatic person, this is not enough to shaft her from the spotlight. As they clash, which one of these maidens will win, the necromancer or the mage? |
C.C. (Code Geass) vs. Sanzen'in Nagi (Hayate no Gotoku!)
If there is anything these two girls have in common, it is the fact that they have big target signs on the back of their heads. Coming from an aristocratic family, it is of no surprise why many people would try to kidnap Sanzen'in Nagi and sell her for ransom. With her fear of the outside world, Nagi was robbed of an innocent childhood, and now spends most of her days enclosed in her room. While she has tried several times to step into the outside world, the fear of kidnapping is still fresh in her mind. C.C. has it even worse off. There are many people out there who would do anything to get their hands on a witch who is able to give them power. C.C. must always hide, disguising herself and making sure that her presence is not known to the public. She will only appear to those who are genuine enough to receive her power and its burden. If only these girls could have people to rely on in times of need and protection… |
Hirasawa Ui (K-ON!) vs. Nakano Azusa (K-ON!)
A sixty-vote loss to senpai and fellow band member, Akiyama Mio, in her previous match was already bad enough, but having to go up against one of her close friends right after only adds to the misfortune. However, with only two necklaces left for the taking, Azusa knows that she must do everything in her power to win this match, even if it means taking down Hirasawa Ui, the girl with whom she has spent all of high school thus far. But it's not only Azusa who feels this way. Ui, too, knows that she must win every match from here on out to stay in the running for a Postseason spot. Despite these slim chances, the younger Hirasawa sister still looks as determined as ever, knowing that if she manages to pull off the upset against Azu-nyan, her chances against others will brighten. So when these two Sakuragaoka students clash in this musical battle, which one do you think will emerge victorious? |
Misaka Mikoto (Toaru Majutsu no Index) vs. Shirai Kuroko (Toaru Majutsu no Index)
Both Misaka Mikoto and Shirai Kuroko share the same room in the Tokiwadai Middle School dormitory, a school of ojōsama located in Gakuen City. While both maidens hold a great sense of justice, they implement it in different ways. Mikoto metes her justice beneath the shadows, while keeping up her ojōsama exterior. The level five electromaster manipulates the flow of electrons into a powerful, destructive force to augment her control of electricity. On the other hand, as a member of Judgment, Kuroko openly upholds the law and order. The level four teleport master enhances her ability with straps of nails, used to pin down her enemies. As the fearsome duo continue to eradicate crimes, Gakuen City becomes a safer place to live for its two million residents. But, which girl's efforts plays a more pivotal role in safeguarding the city—Misaka Mikoto’s or Shirai Kuroko’s? |
Kotobuki Tsumugi (K-ON!) vs. Hiiragi Kagami (Lucky ☆ Star)
Kotobuki Tsumugi and Hiiragi Kagami face off in what should be an interesting match. Mugi is the aristocrat of the group who knows nothing of middle-class life. Everything that she deems fascinating or unique is often normal for others. Despite her curious attitude, her amazing piano skills, kind words, and easy access to sweets and tea make her an interesting person to be around. Kagami is the more down-to-earth character of her group. Trying to see things in the most logical way possible, Kagami is easily angered or annoyed when someone does or says something foolish. Even so, she has a generous heart and is a good friend to have whenever one is troubled. Will Mugi’s sincere feelings capture the hearts of the voters, or will Kagami's tsundere personality cause voters to side with her more? |
Li Meiling (Cardcaptor Sakura) vs. Yuzuhara Konomi (ToHeart 2)
It is one thing to accept one's feelings; however, it is quite another to understand them and the feelings of those around them. That is the type of dilemma these two are facing. In the past, Li Meiling's cousin returned her pet bird after it flew away. From then on, Meiling devoted her life to him, going as far as forcing him to agree to their engagement. Several years later, upon returning to his side, Meiling refused to believe that he was in love with someone else. Although immature and brash, Meiling eventually accepted this fact and called the engagement off, sacrificing her own happiness for his own. Originally, Yuzuhara Konomi, an energetic and happy-go-lucky girl, had always seen her childhood friend as her big brother. As time moved on, she developed feelings for him, but did not know what to do with said feelings. After avoiding any form of contact until an unexpected encounter, Konomi now understands why many people cherish him and that she truly is in love with him. Which one of these sister-type characters will the voters fall in love with? |

Ruby 2 — 25 August 2011
Holo (Spice and Wolf) vs. Tōsaka Rin (Fate/stay night)
The titular veteran candidates, Holo and Tōsaka Rin, are paired together during the second round of the Ruby Period. While both maidens have not missed any ISML Regular Season, their performances during the past three years can be summarised as mixed bags. Both girls only managed to squirm into the Postseason during ISML 2009, with the magus from the Tōsaka family ending the season in tenth place, and the Wise Wolf of Yoitsu finishing in thirteenth. Their final positions have always been close to one other, with only five places separating them in 2008 and four contestants in between them in 2010. It has been two years since the last episode of Spice and Wolf II, and as a result, the wolf deity’s popularity has been dipping ever since. Meanwhile, it has been a year since the movie—Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works—aired, which has left Rin in this conundrum. While downward spirals have inflicted these two veterans, which one of them will emerge victorious in this battle of the ‘Fallen Veterans', Holo, or Tōsaka Rin? |
Louise Vallière (Zero no Tsukaima) vs. Fate Testarossa (Mahō Shōjo Lyrical Nanoha)
Magic decorates the sky as these two veterans face off in a hotly contested match-up. For three years, Louise had suffered loss after loss through close margins. Now that Fate is in a much weaker state than in the past, this could be the open opportunity for which she has waited for so long. With her ancient void magic in hand, a few explosions may be all it takes to get Fate to the floor. However, Fate will not give in that easily. Fate has fought through multiple challenges, giving her all in each one. Her unparalleled speed and amazing strength makes her one of the strongest magical girls known on Earth. As long as she has Bardiche with her, she can knock even the toughest trial out of her way. Louise and Fate cast their strongest spells and fire at each other. One of them will penetrate the other and defeat the opposing side, but which one? |
Shinonono Hōki (IS <Infinite Stratos>)
vs. Sakagami Tomoyo (CLANNAD)
Behind the calm and cool natures of Shinonono Hōki and Sakagami Tomoyo lie troublesome pasts. For Hōki, the IS pilot and kendo expert, her tomboyish personality garnered a lot of horrible remarks from her classmates. Despite not showing any signs of sadness, deep down inside, it is obvious that those words were like knives slashing away at her self-esteem. It is not so much Tomoyo’s personality that caused rumors to be spread about her, but her violent actions instead. Having beaten up several delinquents at her old school in the past, her reputation at her new school started to free-fall, jeopardizing her chances of becoming Student Council President. Luckily for these two girls, help came in the forms of Orimura Ichika and Okazaki Tomoya. Because of the support they received from the two aforementioned friends, both Hōki and Tomoyo were able to overcome the struggles they had faced. And so, with no more troubles hindering them, our two contestants stare each other down, preparing themselves for what will be an exciting battle... |
Nagato Yuki (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu) vs. Aragaki Ayase (Ore no Imōto)
This match up pits Nagato Yuki against Aragaki Ayase. The quiet, emotionless Yuki is a stark contrast to the sociable Ayase. Unless provoked, Yuki can be seen reading a book in the corner of the literature clubroom, which has been turned into the base for the SOS Brigade. Ayase, however, takes an active role in numerous conversations with her circle of friends. Acting as the silent observer around Suzumiya Haruhi, Yuki quietly take notes of the happenings surrounding Haruhi, while not tempering these occurrences with her superhuman abilities. Ayase, meanwhile, reacts immediately when things that she dislikes occur, as her best friend Kōsaka Kirino can concur. As they clash, which one of these maidens will get the majority of the backings from the voters, the stoic and taciturn Nagato Yuki, or the proactive Aragaki Ayase? |
Iwasawa Asami (Angel Beats!) vs. Nakano Azusa (K-ON!)
Two paths in the music world converge today as Iwasawa Asami meets Nakano Azusa in what looks to be a musical showdown. Apart from being guitarists, the lives of our two contestants are arguably opposite of one another. Having known only the pains and struggles of parents who constantly fought, Asami's only reason to live was the music that helped her escape the harsh realities in life. When she immersed herself in music, all the suffering seemed to fade away. As for Azusa, she pursued music only as a hobby, with her decision to join Hōkago Tea Time fully attributed to the breathtaking performance put on by the other band members during the school festival of her first year. On many occasions, the allure of tea and sweets overtook music as the band's first priority. So now, at this intersection in the world of music, which one of these musicians will be able to move forward in victory? |
Konjiki no Yami (To LOVE-Ru) vs. Senjōgahara Hitagi (Bakemonogatari)
This is much less of a fight and more of a character development. Konjiki no Yami had only lived to serve others and to be given a mission to accomplish. As soon as she started to settle down on Earth, she began to develop feelings that she had never felt before. Along with gaining many friends and sharing many quality memories, Yami's quiet personality bloomed with warmth and happiness. Originally, Senjōgahara Hitagi was outgoing and open to others. After a sudden disappearance of her weight, she became more cautious and shut herself away from those who wished to be around her. After several painful moments, she was able to retrieve her original weight and slowly creaked out her previous personality. She may still have a sharp tongue, but she means well. Will the Golden Darkness’ calm, yet cute personality charm the voters today, or will the self-proclaimed tsundere snatch most of the voters instead? |
Fujibayashi Kyō (CLANNAD) vs. Hirasawa Yui (K-ON!)
Although they both started Ruby on the right foot, Fujibayashi Kyō and Hirasawa Yui still have to overcome the big mountain before them in order to make it into the Postseason. Sitting at 20th and 23rd, respectively, a win here is a must for these two young ladies. For Kyō, who is five wins behind 16th place, a disappointing 4-3 Emerald makes having a strong Ruby a must, or she risks not making it into the Top 16 for the first time in her ISML career. Yui, on the other hand, is in better shape after a decent 5-2 Emerald. With this momentum, she looks to stay undefeated in Ruby. It is evident that both of our contestants today desire a win, but only one of them will do so. Knowing this, who will you choose to side with today? The dictionary-throwing tsundere of CLANNAD, or the sweets-loving guitarist of K-ON!? |
Suzumiya Haruhi (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu) vs. Sanzen'in Nagi (Hayate no Gotoku!)
By the end of the Regular Season, both Suzumiya Haruhi and Sanzen’in Nagi are after ISML statistics. These battle-hardened girls have notched more than 300 career wins between the two of them. While Haruhi’s place in the Postseason looks secure, she has two more aims to be accomplished during the Regular Season, to win a necklace, as well as notch her 200th career win in ISML. If everything goes according to estimations, she will hit the 200-win mark by the seventh round in Diamond. Trailing the sixteenth-placed Saber by four wins and having worse head-to-head results against the girls vying for the last Postseason spot, it can be argued that Nagi’s chance to enter the season-ending fireworks has all but evaporated. But, she still has a milestone to reach, and if she can finish the Ruby phase with a score of 4-3 or better, she will join the esteemed few who have at least tasted 150 ISML career victories. Which one of these maidens will chalk up another win for herself—Suzumiya Haruhi, or Sanzen’in Nagi? |
Ana Coppola (Ichigo Mashimaro) vs. Tōdō Shimako (Maria-sama ga Miteru)
They may be proper and beautiful, but closing one's heart can only go so far. Ana Coppola has forgotten how to speak English but still forces herself to try to speak it even though she possesses a large Japanese vocabulary. And if she and her classmates cannot communicate well, she may not have a chance to create true friends. She should stay true to herself and speak in the language with which she feels the most comfortable, breaking her English facade and showing what a polite, well-mannered person she truly is. Tōdō Shimako may be a follower and very devoted to her senior, but what will she do when her senior graduates? Do not let her quiet demeanor fool you. Deep down, she is strong-willed, thoughtful, and will speak out her mind on things that she believes are unjust. She should trust more in the special ties around her than in just one person. The abilities of these two ladies to shatter the walls compacting their hearts have brought them companions, but will it work the same way in the ISML community? |

Yui (Angel Beats!) vs. Huang Lingyin (IS <Infinite Stratos>)
In another battle between fang-tans, Yui is set to take on Huang Lingyin in what is bound to be a heated fight. Although both of these girls are in their first ISML season, their performances couldn't be any more different. Yui currently sits at 12th in the overall standings, comfortably holding a ticket to the Postseason. For Lingyin, this year is definitely one to forget as she is out of the Postseason race at 47th, notching only three wins thus far. Despite this, China's IS representative cadet is second only to Charlotte Dunois for top spot in terms of characters in the IS series, outperforming both Shinonono Hōki and Laura Bodewig. With an optimistic look towards this match, will Lingyin be able to stop the lead vocalist and guitarist of Girls Dead Monster in her tracks? Or, will the power of music lift Yui to victory today? |
Aisaka Taiga (Toradora!) vs. Iwasawa Asami (Angel Beats!)
A happy family is often taken for granted. For those who don't have it, the loneliness can be unbearable. Such are the cases for both Aisaka Taiga and Iwasawa Asami. After her father's disappearance and her mother’s remarriage, the Aisaka household could no longer be called a happy family as Taiga had difficulties getting along with her step-father and half-sibling. These struggles ultimately forced the Palmtop Tiger to live by herself, resulting in a lack of parental love. Asami's situation was just as tough, if not worse. With her violent, alcoholic father constantly fighting with her mother, the Iwasawa household seemed like a battlefield. In order to escape, Asami sought the world of music, a place where all the troubles of reality ceased to exist. For both of these girls, the fateful discoveries of their saviors—Ryūji for Taiga, and music for Asami—are arguably the only reasons why they are here today, standing with their heads held high. So, in the end, will the music from Asami's guitar be able to tame the ferocious tiger, or will Taiga’s strength be too much for her to handle? |
Seraphim (Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?) vs. Konjiki no Yami (To LOVE-Ru)
If it is a fight they want, it is a fight they will get. Vampire-ninja, Seraphim, faces assassin, Konjiki no Yami, in a test of skill and power. Seraphim practices the Tsubamegaeshi Sword Style, manipulating various leaves at her disposal. With her sharp mind and rude tongue, some may find themselves attacked with harsh names. Despite this, she is loyal and cares deeply about the bonds that she has with her friends. Thanks to nano-machines, Yami has the ability to turn any part of her body into a weapon. Her superior strength, speed, and agility make her one of the most dangerous assassins to have on one's neck. She is a rather withdrawn girl and has a hard time talking and connecting with people—she is usually seen alone, away in a quiet place. The two stand eye to eye, waiting for the right moment to strike. When the time comes, the two charge at each other, and the battle commences! |
Nagato Yuki (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu) vs. Sanzen'in Nagi (Hayate no Gotoku!)
The road to 150 Regular Season wins is not looking too good for Sanzen'in Nagi, as she is now pitted against the strongest contestant from the Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu franchise: Nagato Yuki. After starting Ruby with a rather unconvincing win against C.C., Nagi went on to lose against Suzumiya Haruhi in Ruby Round 2. As she prepares to face Yuki, the statistics are definitely not in her favor as her opponent currently sits at 3rd, having only lost twice this year. Right now, it's not a matter of "if" she will get win #150, but "when." With the way things are going right now, Nagi will have to triumph in three of the five remaining matches in Ruby to reach that mark. With Yuki now standing in her way, what does the rich otaku have up her sleeves? Only time will tell, so, for now, let's sit back and enjoy the battle! |
Gokō Ruri (Kuroneko) (Ore no Imōto) vs. Shiina (Angel Beats!)
Just because Gokō Ruri is high from a statistical standpoint, doesn’t mean that she should get too cocky in her actions. Even if she appears to be out of elimination from the Top 16, it only takes a few mistakes to unexpectedly find herself in a bad position. In order for Ruri to stay away from the danger zone until the end, she needs to focus and prepare for any danger ahead of her. She may have a way with words, but that does not help against a ninja such as Shiina. While Shiina may be out of contention for the Postseason, that does not mean she is not a dangerous person. Her ninja-style fighting and swift speed make her a dangerous wall to climb over. Ruri needs to be on guard; it only takes one second to lose the light in one's eyes. Will Shiina be able to obtain a win over Ruri, or will Ruri snatch away this chance in the impending war? |
Kasugano Sora (Yosuga no Sora) vs. Charlotte Dunois (IS <Infinite Stratos>)
(IS <Infinite Stratos>)
Kasugano Sora, the only Yosuga no Sora representative, faces the French representative of IS academy. She will hopefully obtain significantly more strength if she surpasses her opponent, Charlotte Dunois, whose Tier is far higher than Sora’s. Charlotte doesn’t have any reason to hold back her power to grasp a victory in this opportunity. Both need to win this match as much as possible to uphold their values and defend their prides. Which one will be worthy enough to obtain the victory today? Only time and the voters can answer. |
Illyasviel von Einzbern (Fate/stay night) vs. Matō Sakura (Fate/stay night)
(Fate/stay night)
Have you heard of the story about a young German aristocrat who lives in an abandoned castle? With her childish, playful personality and angelic appearance, one may think that she is a sweet girl who is simply lonely. In fact, she is a proud, powerful mage with an intimidating servant and will do whatever it takes to win a certain game. Her eyes are twisted with revenge for her tragic past. Maybe she simply acts like a child who wants to have a little fun after being abandoned for so long. Do you also know about a high school girl who visits that boy's house every day? She is a very shy and timid girl, but is also strong-willed, kindhearted, and caring. Rumor has it that she may possess an enormous amount of magical power because she is actually from a family of powerful magicians. I cannot imagine a girl with such an innocent face lacking remorse in fighting. Stories and rumors are generally what they are. However, if you put the two together in a match, who do you think will win? |

In this battle between two short-tempered tsundere voiced by Kugimiya Rie, Shana is set to take on Louise Vallière. Despite being voiced by the same actress and being in anime produced by the same company, Shana and Louise have had totally different results in ISML. Ever since 2008, Shana has dominated her opponents, even managing to be the first girl to reach 200 wins. Louise, on the other hand, has struggled, having not even amassed 100 wins yet. Today, things are about to get personal. It is not about championships or career wins, but about being the superior Kugimiya Knight. Louise now has the chance to defeat the girl who has overshadowed her presence in ISML for the past four years. But the question is, will she be able to take down the all-powerful Flame Haze? As the duel of swords and magic get underway, which weapon of choice will come out on top?

(Angel Beats!)
Whether you are the quiet type like Furukawa Nagisa, or the energetic type like Yui, love can be found even in the unlikeliest of situations. Even though Nagisa didn't know it at first, her fateful meeting was the foundation of better things to come. The two friends, and eventual parents, supported each other all their life. Their love for each other is undoubtedly mutual. Similarly, Yui was cared for deeply as well by someone, who, desiring her happiness, agreed to marry her, knowing full well of her accident-induced paralysis caused during childhood. This unconditional love allowed Yui to leave the Afterlife without any regrets. Knowing that their special ones will always be by their sides, no matter what, both Nagisa and Yui are ready to face any challenge, including today's match-up. Can this be it? Could it be that Holo has managed to find the inner strength that has otherwise disappeared over the last few periods? After accumulating three straight wins after a terrible losing streak, Holo plans on churning out this much needed momentum to go as far as she can. Now comes the real test: whether or not she will be able to overcome the likes of Hiiragi Kagami. While Kagami is indeed in a slump, her power has stayed consistent. As long as Kagami remains as strong as she is now, she should be able to defeat Holo as she has twice in the last three years. Even so, this wise wolf has already forgotten the words "give up”, and she will do whatever it takes to return to her natural strength. Can Holo overcome this heavy obstacle, or is Kagami just too much for her to handle? |
Sanzen'in Nagi (Hayate no Gotoku!) vs. Senjōgahara Hitagi (Bakemonogatari)
From one tsundere to another, Sanzen'in Nagi and Senjōgahara Hitagi face off in what should be an interesting match-up. Nagi has no more time to waste. With the Postseason closing in, this rich otaku needs to really step up to the plate. This is one thing she has to do on her own, for money will not be able to get her out of this mess. The same can be said for Hitagi. The only person blocking her way from returning to the Postseason is Saber, who sits dangerously in the 16th position. Because both of them have the same win and lose count, it only takes one loss to decide who will make it to the top. In order for Hitagi to avoid this outcome, she has to continue winning—a loss in this match could spell trouble for her ISML career. When everything is said and done, it is up to the voters to decide what will happen. Who will win in this clash of two prior Postseason candidates? |
Fujibayashi Kyō (CLANNAD) vs. Sakagami Tomoyo (CLANNAD)
In ISML 2008, Sakagami Tomoyo and Fujibayashi Kyō finished the Regular Season atop the leaderboard, at 2nd and 5th, respectively. This year, however, the two veterans from CLANNAD are not faring so well against their competition, currently sitting at 20th and 23rd. While they are at risk of not making it into the Postseason for the first time in their ISML careers, don't count them out just yet, as these girls are out to prove that CLANNAD's time is not up. But today, a friend becomes a foe, as the two shift their focus towards the goal of making it into the Postseason. A win here is of the utmost importance, but only one of them will be able to walk away. As their final push towards the Top 16 begins, to whom will you give your support—2008 Sapphire Necklace winner, Fujibayashi Kyō, or 2009 Aquamarine Necklace winner, Sakagami Tomoyo? |
Kōnagi Yui (Yumekui Merry) vs. Sakura Kyōko (Puella Magi Madoka ☆ Magica)
Becoming a guardian and creating bonds are particularly hard to do, especially when one is used to being alone for so long. However, when that certain someone shows up, things can be much brighter than predicted. Allowing someone to take temporary possession of you is not something one would immediately accept. Upon listening to the other side of the story and understanding what exactly he or she must do in this world, one cannot help but to sympathize with the person. Yes, the end result may lead to difficult situations, but if the two are together at all times, any obstacle can be knocked over. What is worse is seeing someone going through the exact painful road one has walked before. One tries to persuade the other not to follow that path, but that person believes it is the sole path to take. Only then does one realize her feelings long forgotten. Maybe this was the "friendship" that should have colored her life long ago. The power of having someone by one's side can lead to multiple possibilities. Is it enough here? |

Ruby 5 — 1 September 2011
Tachibana Kanade (Angel Beats!) vs. Aisaka Taiga (Toradora!)
One by one, they have come. One by one, they have fallen. Every time Tachibana Kanade steps into the ring, each contestant knows that she will be put through a living hell rather than a "Heaven's Feel." Kanade has taken down the likes of veterans Shana and Nagato Yuki, and has laid waste to tiara bearers Akiyama Mio and Katsura Hinagiku. Is there anyone who can stop this demonic angel from her mountainous momentum? Aisaka Taiga enters the match with only one thing in mind: putting the immovable to rest. For one who is able to make the impossible possible, look no further than Taiga's winning records. Taiga defeated Suzumiya Haruhi in Ruby 8, 2009, becoming the second-only person to stop her amazing winning streak, and Akiyama Mio in Ruby 7, 2010, giving the future Tiara-bearer her first loss that year. Now, in Ruby 5, Taiga looks to do what others have failed to do: give Kanade her first loss of this season. Both characters prepare for the heavy match that lies ahead of them. Hanazawa Kana versus Kugimiya Rie. P.A. Works versus J.C. Staff. The battle between God's angel and the Palmtop Tiger commences! |
Shana (Shakugan no Shana) vs. Suzumiya Haruhi (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu)
Shana's race for the Ruby necklace just became a tad more difficult as she is set to go against Suzumiya Haruhi, someone who already knows the fiery power emanating from the necklace. The stakes for this match are high, with the loser almost guaranteed to lose her spot in the Necklace Showdown. For Shana, whose career total of five necklaces is the most for any girl, the Ruby necklace continues to elude her. Despite strong performances all year round, she has finished 2nd for the period in the previous three years. With the addition of SDO in the calculations, this may turn out to be Shana's year. But Haruhi looks to stop this from happening, as a win here may possibly eliminate one of her greatest opponents. Fueled by passionate flames, these two warriors engage in a highly anticipated and heated battle. When the air in the arena cools, which girl will remain standing—Shana the Flame Haze, or Suzumiya Haruhi, leader of the SOS? |
Sengoku Nadeko (Bakemonogatari) vs. Senjōgahara Hitagi (Bakemonogatari)
It does not get any more competitive than this. With Sengoku Nadeko and Senjōgahara Hitagi at 15th and 17th place, respectively, the heat is on to see who will claim the final spots in the Top 16. Both characters are good friends and portray different forms of attention. Nadeko's charm is in her little sister archetype cuddled with her innocence and sincerity. Who cannot help but feel the need to protect her from everything imaginable? On the other hand, Hitagi is more of a beauty mixed with a sharp tongue. As long as one ignores her erratic remarks and play on words, she is quite the girl to be around. Both characters give a different journey to the voters who follow. However, this is one intersection that they have to take in order to make it to the end of the Regular Season. Which of these Postseason contenders will win when all is said and done? |
Nakano Azusa (K-ON!) vs. Hirasawa Yui (K-ON!)
The Ruby Period couldn't have been more difficult for Nakano Azusa as she now has to go against Hirasawa Yui, the sister of the friend whom she defeated in Ruby 1. Even with a 3288-vote win over Ui, Azusa knows that she shouldn't be too overconfident in this match against her senpai. With both of them sitting at 4-0, a loss here would be devastating to their chances at the Ruby Necklace. Statistically speaking, Azu-nyan seems to have the upper hand in this match. But don't count Yui out just yet, as she is out to her best start since Aquamarine and Topaz. When this battle gets underway, it won't just be an intra-band battle, but also an ISML intra-Seitokai battle. In the end, which one of these two skilled guitarists will walk away victorious—Nakano Azusa, the Vice President of Operations, or Hirasawa Yui, the Reporter? |
Morishima Haruka (Amagami SS) vs. Takei Hisa (Saki)
An electronic mahjong table is set in the center of the arena with thousands watching from their computer screens. Currently sitting at the table is Takei Hisa, a shrewd girl who likes to take interesting risks at any given situation. It has been her dream to create a mahjong club, along with a strong team that will be able to take her to the nationals. With her intellect and athletic ability, it is no wonder why many spectators view her as the favorite in this match. The door to the arena opens, and walking to the table is Morishima Haruka. Her tall and slender physical features makes any man's eyes turn towards her. While slightly air-headed and spoiled at times, it does not change the fact that she has a gentle heart and a caring personality. While her mahjong skills are questionable, she still will give her all and hope for the best. When Haruka sits opposite of Hisa, the viewers start to go wild with excitement. Instead of waiting for the remaining two players to come, why don't they start the match now? |

Ruby 6 — 4 September 2011
Nagato Yuki (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu) vs. Shana (Shakugan no Shana)
It’s no surprise that the spotlight in Ruby Round 6 will be on the fixture between Nagato Yuki and Shana. These two ISML colossi have been around since its inception four years ago, and since then, Shana has racked up more than 200 career wins during the Regular Seasons. Not to be outdone by her opponent, Yuki is currently tied for second in overall career wins. Barring any catastrophic performances, she is anticipated to chalk up her 200th career win during the Diamond Period. They are both neck to neck on the leader board, with Yuki currently in third place, while her rival is fifth. The silent Artificial Human Interface has also snatched the Amethyst Necklace, befitting the maiden. On the other hand, the Flame Haze is still waiting for her customary necklace, and what better piece to fit her than the fiery Ruby Necklace? Will the stoic and taciturn Nagato Yuki be able to beat Shana with her world bending powers, or will the Nietono no Shana be able to turn the tide the other way? |
Tachibana Kanade (Angel Beats!) vs. Nakano Azusa (K-ON!)
Total domination. That is what Tachibana Kanade has been achieving in each of her matches thus far. Her stats this year have been ridiculously epic—she is currently the only contestant with over 200,000 VF and less than 100,000 VA. Her VD of over 100,000 has never been seen before and it doesn't seem like it's going to stop increasing anytime soon. Although Kanade has already managed to secure wins against elite girls like Akiyama Mio, Shana, and Katsura Hinagiku, another strong opponent appears before her today in the form of Nakano Azusa. This lovable kōhai of Hōkago Tea Time has also done extremely well this season, having only lost three times thus far. But with Kanade as her opponent, that may be about to change. Despite the odds being against her, Azusa knows that giving up will get her nowhere. Her upset victory over Shana, who is arguably the most decorated girl in ISML, was a good reminder that nothing is impossible. But when this match is finally over, will Azusa become another victim in Kanade's destructive path, or will she be the first to vanquish the seemingly immortal Tenshi? |
Misaka Mikoto (Toaru Majutsu no Index)
vs. Eucliwood Hellscythe (Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?)
Misaka Mikoto and Eucliwood Hellscythe are each other’s antithesis. The short-haired Electromaster prefers to be at the forefront of crisis, using her unrelenting command of electrons to aid her conquests. Projected as a proper ojōsama, she is anything but a proper lady. Brash, strong willed, and quite easily riled, the student from Tokiwadai Middle School fits the tsundere archetype. On the other hand, the wavy-haired Necromancer of the Underworld would rather step aside and watch as problems occur around her. More often than not, her death scythe doubles as her writing pen. While she houses an unspeakable amount of power, the temporary tenant in the Aikawa household prefers to convey her messages visually with text instead of with speech, fitting the bill of a dandere. As the coin is tossed and the death scythe swings, which one of these two maidens will emerge victorious—the Railgun, Misaka Mikoto, or the Necromancer of the Underworld, Eucliwood Hellscythe? |
Yui (Angel Beats!) vs. Saber (Fate/stay night)
Yui is a hyperactive and overly energetic girl who has a high chance of hurting herself if she is not careful. While she holds an established spot at 12th, that does not mean that she can relax just yet. If she is not careful of her surroundings, someone might take her down without her realizing it and cause her to be in a vulnerable position. There are many people under the borderline who are hungry for the chance to be in the Top 16, one of them being Saber. With just eight rounds to go, Saber has no time to waste. A loss from Katsura Hinagiku knocked her out of the Top 16, and if this royal knight wishes to return to the Postseason, she needs to start winning as many matches as she can—she must avoid another loss at any cost. However, even someone like her can make a fatal mistake if all she sees in her eyes is victory. Can Yui defend her territory until time runs out, or will Saber break through the barrier by force? |
Senjōgahara Hitagi (Bakemonogatari)
vs. Charlotte Dunois (IS <Infinite Stratos>)
(IS <Infinite Stratos>)
As the race to grab the last remaining spots for the Postseason heats up, every match pitting the vying contestants against each other bears significant implications. Senjōgahara Hitagi is currently 15th in the overall cumulative standings, with a one-win advantage over the 17th-placed contestant. As she faces the maiden who currently occupies 13th in the overall standing, she can ill afford another loss here, as the ramifications of the loss will be dire. Charlotte Dunois, on the other hand, has a healthy lead over the cut-off point, but she will need to win this match to guarantee a better head-to-head record against her opponent. While her slot in the Postseason is not in jeopardy, the French IS cadet would prefer to end the Regular Season as high as she can to avoid meeting the tournament favourites early on in the Postseason. In the end, will staples and scissors be enough for Senjōgahara Hitagi to topple Charlotte Dunois, or will the Raphael Revive custom II soar above instead? |
Katsura Hinagiku (Hayate no Gotoku!) vs. Akiyama Mio (K-ON!)
A year ago in Diamond 7, 2009 Heavenly Tiara winner, Katsura Hinagiku, defeated eventual 2010 Heavenly Tiara winner, Akiyama Mio, by a mere 82 votes in what many considered a surprising victory. Fast-forward to today, and the two finally meet again, though their performances are not up to par with the results they achieved last year. At this point last year, the two were neck and neck, tied for first in the overall standings with 41 wins and no losses. However, this year, they have yet to reach the 40-win mark. Nonetheless, this match is still one to look forward to as it features the Tiara bearers of the past two years. With the winner of this match receiving a massive SDO boost, the stakes are high for both Hōkago Tea Time's bassist and Hakuō Academy's student council president. When all is said and done, will Mio be able to even the score between the two and convince doubters that Hina's win was a fluke? Or, will history align itself with Hina, helping her essentially destroy Mio's chances of obtaining the Ruby Necklace? |
Hirasawa Yui (K-ON!) vs. Victorique de Blois (GOSICK)
With the Postseason getting nearer and nearer, every match is a must-win for those girls who still, statistically, have a chance to make it into the race for the Heavenly Tiara. On top of this, the pressure is arguably doubled for the few girls who are right below the 16th seed. Two girls in such a position are Hirasawa Yui and Victorique de Blois. With eight matches to go, including this one, the two don't have much time left to climb their ways past the cut-off line. However, it's not their future matches that they should be worried about right now, but their opponents today. Currently, Victorique has the upper hand in the standings. But, don't count Yui out just yet, as her determination to make it into the Postseason once again may be enough to lift her over the Golden Fairy. In the end, everything is left to the voters. Which of the two will prove herself more—the intelligent Victorique de Blois, or the boisterous Hirasawa Yui? |
Haruna (Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?) vs. Iwasawa Asami (Angel Beats!)
While most of the attention will be on the clashes between the big hitters, it would be criminal to neglect the girls within the lower reaches of the overall standings. Both Haruna and Iwasawa Asami can testify that lives don’t always go according to plan. Haruna, the masō-shōjo from Virie, lost her magical powers when she tried to erase the memory from a bystander who witnessed her fighting a B-ranked Megalo. As a consequence, she now helps in the Aikawa residence, while trying to regain her lost powers. As for the guitarist from Girls Dead Monster, Asami endured a downtrodden life, which culminated in her demise as petty squabbles between her parents escalated. Music was her companion in life while she endured her pains. As Mysteltainn and guitar clash, which one of these ladies will mark a victory for the Ruby Period—the masō-shōjo Haruna, or the guitarist Iwasawa Asami ? |
Etna (Makai Senki Disgaea) vs. Nōmi Kudryavka (Little Busters!)
From the hit game series Disgaea comes Etna, the loyal vassal of the Overlord's Castle. Etna has a carefree personality, but is also quite mischievous and short tempered. She has been known to do unique things during normal situations, such as waking people up using guns or swords. With an army of Prinnies at her command, she has enough confidence to win a battle by using them as her aid. Fighting against her is KEY's own Nōmi Kudryavka. While mostly of Russian descent, Kudryavka came to know much about Japanese life and culture through her grandfather. Kind and devoted, Kudryavka is willing to give her hand to those who need it. She is eager to try new things, though some are for the better, and others…not so much. Will Etna overcome her opponent with her army of Prinnies, or will Kudryavka stop their invasion from happening? |

Senjōgahara Hitagi (Bakemonogatari) vs. Shana (Shakugan No Shana)
Recoiling from the hard hit that was her latest loss—a mere three votes to Nagato Yuki—Shana turns to face the blade of Senjōgahara Hitagi's razor-sharp tongue. With the whispers of her apparent curse spreading across the world, the petite tsundere fights on to prove them all wrong. She will win that Ruby Necklace, that one ever-elusive prize. But Hitagi's been on the up-and-up, not flinching as she calmly swept aside her series-mate Nadeko, nor was she fazed by the looming IS of the Hanazawan Dunois. A true kūdere to the core, Hitagi locks in all the pain, doubt, and fear below the surface. She refuses to bat an eyelash at the determined ball of fiery energy that glares from across the hall, washed in the ruby light reflecting from her hair, blade, and eyes. Pushing her witty one-liners and intuitive wordplay to one side, the model-like bishōjo slips her stapler into place, small and seemingly insignificant in the face of the flame-laced Nietono no Shana, but her trusted friend nonetheless. A faint sense of déjà vu creeps through her as she stands, a lone, slender silhouette engulfed by blazing light and a loud cry of "URUSAI!" |
Tachibana Kanade (Angel Beats!) vs. Victorique de Blois (GOSICK)
Invincible, unstoppable, and maybe immortal, Tachibana Kanade is definitely an expert in destroying her enemies. From the moment she entered ISML, she has been massacring all of her opponents and leaving a trail of blood behind her, which includes long-time elites, a previous Tiara bearer, and strong newcomers. However, if she wants to prove her worth, she must defeat her opponent today, Victorique de Blois. At the beginning of the Regular Season, Victorique may not have been the strongest newcomer, but that isn't the case now. Her strength has had a significant boost ever since the end of GOSICK; moreover, she's now fighting for a ticket to the Postseason, which gives her much more momentum and makes her one of the most dangerous opponents in the Regular Season. Will the “Golden Fairy" be able to complete "Mission Impossible,” or will Tachibana Kanade prove that she deserves a special “Tenshi” tier all to herself? |
Sengoku Nadeko (Bakemonogatari) vs. Nagato Yuki (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu)
Watching events unfold from the sidelines and not reacting to these occurrences are the usual courses of action taken by both Sengoku Nadeko and Nagato Yuki. Instead of tackling them face on, these two maidens would rather keep their mouths shut and let the situations unfold naturally. Different sets of circumstances have led to both of them being docile and unresponsive towards trials and tribulations around them. Her inability to mingle with kids around her own age has led to Nadeko’s apparent lack of willingness to share her burden with her circle of friends. Writhing alone, she kept a cheerful facade whenever she was with her close companions. Yuki, on the other hand, was tasked to observe an unusual phenomenon happening to the world. While she could tamper with the occurrences surrounding her subject, she diligently observed her target from a distance. Which one of these two will be able to express herself better—the shy and timid Sengoku Nadeko, or the taciturn and stoic Nagato Yuki? |
Hirasawa Yui (K-ON!) vs. Aisaka Taiga (Toradora!)
If there is something that can be called destiny, then Hirasawa Yui probably wouldn’t like it, especially when it involves Aisaka Taiga. In AST 2009, Yui won her match against Taiga in the preliminary round; however, when fighting for the championship, she was defeated and gave Taiga her second championship. In ISML 2010, she lost both her Regular Season and Double Elimination matches against Taiga, suffering elimination in the latter. But it isn't over yet, as Yui struggles to clinch a spot for the Postseason and will most likely go home if she loses her match against Taiga now. However, the Palmtop Tiger isn't someone who can be defeated easily, especially when she is furious due to her previous loss against Tachibana Kanade. Will Yui be capable of changing her destiny, or will Taiga knock down her opponent with her sword? |
Katsura Hinagiku (Hayate no Gotoku!) vs. Yui (Angel Beats!)
A difficult childhood isn't always a bad thing. Although events like abandonment and accidents look undesirable on the outside, how one deals with the aftermath of these events can, ultimately, shape life for the better. For both Katsura Hinagiku and Yui, the struggles of their childhoods arguably caused them to be who they are today. With her parents leaving her and her sister with a large debt, Hina was left to fend for herself. Through this, she learned to be independent and reliable, eventually becoming the student council president of Hakuō Academy. As for Yui, an automobile accident permanently paralyzed her from the waist down. Despite her situation, Yui developed an optimistic and energetic personality, always looking forward to the day where she would be able to freely do what she wanted. But today, another difficult situation arises, as these two pink-haired girls will have to do battle with each other. Although currently holding tickets to the Postseason, a loss here may end up costing them. And so, which one of the two will you aid today with your vote—the bokken-wielding Katsura Hinagiku, or the guitar-brandishing Yui? |
Kōsaka Kirino (Ore no Imōto) vs. Eucliwood Hellscythe (Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?)
As parts of the newcomers’ wave sweeping ISML, Kōsaka Kirino and Eucliwood Hellscythe are among the nineteen new faces who manage to top their respective preliminary groups. While the early signs indicated that both of these cute imōto would be able to mount a sustained assault for Postseason spots, as well as grab any period necklace, the reality is that they are not the powerhouses fans anticipated early on. Currently ill-placed to enter the Postseason, Kirino faces an uphill task to sneak into the final sixteen. On the other hand, while her spot in the Postseason has been sewn shut, Eucliwood’s chance to win a necklace for herself is fast dwindling as there are only two more necklaces up for grabs. It can be argued that they don’t stand any chances of grabbing the Ruby Necklace, which leaves them with the Diamond Period as their last opportunity to taste personal glory. As the dust settles after these fallen newcomers clash, who will emerge victorious—Kōsaka Kirino or Eucliwood Hellscythe? |
Suzumiya Haruhi (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu)
vs. Charlotte Dunois (IS <Infinite Stratos>)
(IS <Infinite Stratos>)
As a Tier 2 contestant, going 6-1 for one period is awesome, while going 6-1 for two, or even three is fantastic; Charlotte Dunois accomplished this at the beginning of the Regular Season. While she has never gotten close in matches with Tier 1 girls, she managed to knock down weaker opponents, and always achieved narrow victories against stronger ones. She could be considered a miracle, and was once one of the most dangerous newcomers. However, just after being stumped by Tachibana Kanade, Charlotte's strength significantly shrunk, and even with her luck still protecting her, she started losing more than two matches per period. Another Tier 2 contestant, Suzumiya Haruhi, started the season with three consecutive scores of 5-2, and has become stronger since them, going 6-1 for Sapphire and 7-0 for Emerald. Haruhi is determined to complete her 200-victory by the end of this Regular Season, but she can only afford one more loss after being defeated by Shana. While both are quite safe when talking about Postseason spots, they must do their best in order to get better seedings. Will Charlotte's super luck grant her the victory, or will Haruhi turn out to be too much for her? |
Sanzen'in Nagi (Hayate no Gotoku!) vs. Louise Vallière (Zero no Tsukaima)
Clashes between Kugimiya Knights have become all too common nowadays. In this particular match-up, the rich otaku, Sanzen'in Nagi, takes on the magician, Louise Vallière. Whenever the Knights are mentioned, most people immediately think about Shana and Aisaka Taiga, arguably the strongest two of the group. But today, both Nagi and Louise are out to prove that they are worthy to be in the same faction as the Flame Haze and Palmtop Tiger. With this win, not only will Nagi be able to keep her Postseason hopes alive, but she will also obtain her 150th Regular Season win. As for Louise, who is currently eliminated from Postseason contention, a victory here is a must in order to prevent herself from falling even further away from the rest of the Knights in the overall standings. At the end of this battle, which one of these two tsundere will prove herself more? |
Konjiki no Yami (To LOVE-Ru) vs. Kasugano Sora (Yosuga no Sora)
Being alone is a feeling that most human beings would prefer to avoid. Both Konjiki no Yami and Kasugano Sora know the pain of life in solitude, away from the rays of happiness that permeate from being together with their loved ones. As an assassin, it’s imperative for Yami to shun society and live within the shadows. Feelings of love and friendship can be a hindrance and can also result in her not being able to complete her given tasks. Keeping a safe distance between her and her target, she sneaks through darkness, waiting for the perfect time to execute her mission. For someone who has been bedridden for most of her life, Sora has developed a troublesome attitude towards the people around her. These attitudes developed to protect her fragile inner core, which was stripped of her childhood years from the pain of losing her parents. Which maiden’s loneliness will stir the hearts of the voters—the shadowy Konjiki no Yami, or the sickly Kasugano Sora? |
Shigure Asa (Shuffle!) vs. Shirakawa Nanaka (D.C. ~Da Capo~)
Those two smiling faces seen everyday…you’re so used to hearing them chatter with a crowd of people or a small group of friends, that you might think it natural for them to grab ample attention. What happens when you learn that you were merely blinded by simple facades? To act like a senior is easy as long as she sets her morals straight. Even if she’s full of energy and wit, it does not help if she cannot control her own body. With a fragile physique filled with insurmountable power, it only takes a few seconds for her to abruptly crash and burn. Acting like a normal student can be worse. Everyone looks up and admires an idol, but she can only hold onto so much potential. Pressure seeps inside her mind, and, with people only viewing her as such, contact with the "norm" may not be the best move to make. Both of these girls have things they wish to keep secret and will only reveal them to those for whom they care dearly. Which story are you willing to follow? |

Deep within the pits of a fiery hell lies the Ruby Necklace, said to hold the powers of fire. It is not to burn everything in sight. Rather, it seeks for one who is able to light a fire within one's heart and pass the warmth to one's surroundings. Katsura Hinagiku and Suzumiya Haruhi have displayed such potential in the past. Hinagiku was able to confirm her true feelings for her crush, while a simple chat everyday turned a self-centered Haruhi to one full of vigor and energy. Five other combatants have also proven their worth for the flaming necklace. After gaining her original weight back, Senjōgahara Hitagi was able to open her heart and rely on others more. Shana was able to settle down after living only to fulfill her missions. Upon becoming members of the light music club, Nakano Azusa and Akiyama Mio could finally relax and enjoy fun moments even while working hard. After meeting a stranger, Eucliwood Hellscythe decided to gamble on fate and challenge her destiny with him by her side. Who will overcome the burning arena and reach out for the necklace? |

vs. Amamiya Yūko (ef - a tale of memories)
vs. Tsukimiya Ayu (Kanon)
vs. Rakka (Haibane Renmei)
vs. Flonne (Disgaea)
vs. Mitsukai Dokuro (Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan)
vs. Kazakiri Hyōka (Toaru Majutsu no Index)
If there is any doubt or confusion in people’s minds, they should note that there are always angels who watch over them, for better or worse. It is hard to be one with wings, for there are restrictions to how much freedom one can have, even if one wishes to venture outside. What is worse is to hold a grudge and wait to see that special someone after so long. Even if forgotten, an angel waits patiently until the one whom she cares for remembers her fully. An angel should stay true to herself and resist her tarnished wings. She should be able to spread love to those around her, even from demons that reside in the darkness. She should watch over them and make sure they stay on the right path, regardless of whatever weapon one holds. Finally, as much as she should trust the heavens, there are times when an angel needs to rely on others, for her friends on Earth care about her dearly. Which of these beings will the voters select to become their guardian, supporter, and close friend? |
